Teacher-made worksheets, new book style, new staff
Teacher-made worksheets on the TukTuk website, a new small storybook shown at the Cambodia Festival in Tokyo, SEA Games 2023, and a new intern and staff.
SEA Games 2023 in Cambodia & Cambodia Festival in Tokyo 😊

The 32nd Sea Games, a multi-sport event every two years in Southeast Asia, has kicked off for the first time in Cambodia. The traditional two-week school break for Khmer New Year has been extended to accommodate the games until late May. As a result, the entire country is in high spirits. We heard that the opening ceremony was extremely well done. If you have time, have a look from here! 🎉
Earlier this month, we traveled to Tokyo on the 3rd and 4th during a vacation weekend in Japan to attend the Cambodia Festival. The festival's official Facebook page introduced the TukTuk organization to the attendees. Stay tuned for more information about this event in next month's issue. 😊

Teacher-made worksheets are now finally available on the website ✨

At our most recent workshop, we taught teachers how to create computer-based worksheets. It was well-received, partly because this initiative had been requested for some time. During a follow-up visit, we were thrilled to see that some teachers had already started using the skills they learned and were distributing the worksheets they created to their students.
One of the teachers even went the extra mile and created her original worksheet. 😲 We were delighted to have her share it on our website, as it's aligned with TukTuk's goal of establishing a platform for teachers to share teaching resources with each other.
We hope this will provide an excellent opportunity for many teachers, including the ones we aim to reach with our project, to utilize our website for exchanging teaching materials.
First intern since the pandemic ended 👏

TukTuk has provided internship opportunities for students from Phare, an art school located in Battambang Province, which is adjacent to Pursat Province, on various occasions in the past. However, due to the COVID-19 situation, this program had to be halted for some time. But this past April, TukTuk was delighted to welcome Rasin.
Rasin hails from Pursat and will be staying with TukTuk until July for a duration of three months. During his internship, he will assist with various tasks, such as developing worksheets, designing classroom decorations, and creating new banners. He has been an incredible asset to the team.
Rasin has instantly become everyone's little brother and is progressively acclimating to the TukTuk atmosphere! 👫🏻🧸
Khmer of the month
Khmer Word: Aulanpik
This month, Cambodia is abuzz with enthusiasm for sports as the Sea Games, Southeast Asia’s biennial "Aulanpik" (Olympics), is set to take place in Phnom Penh. There will be a range of exciting competitions here, and there that may be unfamiliar, so if you're a sports enthusiast, it's definitely worth exploring!

A new form of book. Made by...? 📚

TukTuk has published a range of storybooks in different formats, including kamishibai, A4-size paper books for coloring, books readable on smartphones, and animations. In addition to these, we have created a new A5ish-size storybook, which is perfect for young children.
We unveiled the new style of storybooks at the Cambodia Festival in Tokyo on the 3rd and 4th of this month, and we'll share how it was received in next month's issue. 😊
Before Adrian and Mayu left for Japan, we were in a rush to print and bind the books for the festival. Fortunately, Thoch, one of our new part-time staff members, was there to help us. Thanks to his hard work and trustworthy mechanical skills, we managed to finish as much bookbinding as possible. You can learn more about Thoch in our TukTuk Staff Spotlight below. 👇
Voluntuker spotlight | Thoch

As mentioned earlier, Thoch is a recent addition to our team, having joined as a part-time staff member last month. Despite juggling his studies and school in the afternoons and working at TukTuk in the mornings, he has shown remarkable dedication and has made a valuable contribution to our team, thanks to his hard work and diligence.
- Favorite things to do: Playing volleyball and learning new computer technology.
- What he’s studying at school: Information technology, including data communications, web design, and programming.
- Dreams: To become a teacher or a web designer.
What he wants to do well at TukTuk: Utilizing computers, large photocopiers, and various machines for book production.
Thoch's dependability with machines is noteworthy, and he leverages his proficiency in Khmer to conduct final checks on video materials produced by our team. His exceptional attention to detail in his work sets an admirable example for us all.
