Summer greetings from Japan 🌞

Hey there, how's everyone's summer (or winter down under!) going? I know some of you might be thinking, "It's scorching in Cambodia!" But trust me, when you compare it to the blazing heat in Japan right now, Cambodia actually offers a more pleasant experience. Sure, there's some rain during the rainy season, but it's not constant rain like in Japan. With travel restrictions lifted, why not consider Cambodia for your summer (or winter!) getaway? 🛫 Guess what? Our return to Cambodia is just around the corner! And let me tell you, Milly is absolutely smitten with music. TukTuk songs? You bet she adores those too! Who knows, by the time we're back in Cambodia, she might just be belting out tunes in Khmer! Oh, and don't hesitate to play our songs if you're in the mood for something unique at home. They're definitely not just kiddie songs! Give them a listen right here.🎵

Thank you, Rasin! 🎨

We've had the pleasure of having Rasin as our intern, and he successfully completed his 3-month internship last month before heading back to school.
Throughout this time, Rasin worked closely with us on creating a brand-new banner and giving our worksheets a fresh makeover. He totally brought positive vibes to our team and quickly became like a little brother to all of us.
As he now heads back to art school in Battambang to continue his journey toward becoming a graphic designer, we're excited to think that his time with TukTuk will provide wonderful nourishment for his future dreams. We're cheering him on every step of the way! 🌟
🔄 New look for our worksheets! 📝

As mentioned earlier, we've given our previous worksheets a fresh makeover thanks to Rasin's efforts. While our older worksheets were all about the vibrant TukTuk light blue, the new design is now in shades of monochrome! We made this change after receiving feedback from teachers who are actively using these worksheets. After paying visits to schools ourselves, we understood the challenges of printing in color, prompting us to opt for a design that's easier on our hardworking educators.
In addition, we've added a nifty QR code to each worksheet, linking directly to the online version on the website. This means you can now effortlessly access the worksheets and even watch the instructional videos online.
Our aim is to make these materials not just accessible for teachers, but also for parents whose kids want to continue their studies at home. Here's to smoother learning experiences for everyone! 🌟
Khmer of the month
Khmer Word: Karem
What's the most delightful treat for beating the heat? You got it— "Karem (ice cream)"! 🍧 In Cambodia, ice cream isn't just found in shops; you can also get it from mobile vendors who serve it right on the spot. Here's one of the most interesting ways to enjoy it 👇
Khmer Food: Nombong Dak Karem Kei (Ice cream sandwich) 👇

New storybook in the making 🎾

TukTuk is currently immersed in crafting its 9th storybook! This time around, the theme revolves around "Sports". Just in May of this year, we witnessed the "SEA games", the Southeast Asian equivalent of the Olympics. Excitingly, ADV TENNIS, a company dedicated to tennis equipment and promoting tennis in Cambodia, has generously decided to contribute to us. As a result, this storybook will feature tennis.
While volleyball and soccer steal the spotlight in Cambodia, badminton and table tennis have also gained popularity as post-work recreational activities. Interestingly, some of our team members even had trouble distinguishing between tennis, badminton, and table tennis. With this storybook, we're excited to offer kids and even adults the chance to not only explore tennis but also discover other sports.
Stay tuned for next month's issue, where we'll happily present the final creation. Anticipation is in the air—keep an eye out! 👀
Voluntuker spotlight | San

In this month's issue, we're shining the spotlight on San from the Rotary Club of Pursat (RCP), who's been an integral part of our CLIP project, providing unwavering support every step of the way. We had a chance to sit down with him for a quick chat 👇.
What is your role at RCP?: I hold the position of club president. My primary role is to guide and inspire our club members, ensuring they feel valued, motivated, and connected. This involves leading club and board meetings and appointing committee chairs and members.
What do you do outside RCP?: I work as an English teacher at a public junior high school. Additionally, I serve as an Education Program Manager for Sustainable Cambodia, an organization also supported by the Rotary Club. In this role, I ensure that our education programs adhere to the best practices and continue to grow with good quality.
Impression of CLIP2: Through my experiences visiting preschools and hands-on involvement in projects, CLIP 2 has notably empowered our target teachers. They've gained the ability to leverage technology for teaching, explore engaging worksheets, and create more learning materials. This impact isn't limited to project-involved preschool teachers alone; even parents and early-grade educators outside the project benefit from the online resource website. What's truly exciting is the evident habit of self-reflection and mutual support taking shape among the TukTuk team and participants during workshops which fosters positive growth and solution-sharing for any challenges they face.
Hopes for Preschool Education in Cambodia: Preschool education lays a sturdy foundation for continuous learning and the advancement of cognitive and social skills. Through our collaborative efforts with educational offices in Pursat, we're committed to establishing a robust and high-quality preschool education program for Cambodia.
San has been a constant supporter from TukTuk's very beginning, even before the CLIP project began. We're thrilled to now have the pleasure of partnering with him on this project. His enthusiasm is infectious, and he proves to be a dependable ally who takes our initiatives seriously and offers unwavering support at every workshop.
