Annual meeting, plans for CLIP 3, Kris spotlight
TukTalk 61 reports the annual CLIP2 summary meeting in Pursat, interviews at 15 preschools to plan CLIP 3, a thank you for 2022 and volunteer Kris.
Wishing you a great new year 😊

This is the final month of 2022, and December seems to go by in the blink of an eye. How has everyone's year gone?
This was TukTuk's first year of the CLIP2 project, and we learned a lot. Our TukStaff members and target teachers are feeling more empowered and optimistic about the upcoming school year as a result of our collaborative efforts to create educational resources and provide professional development.
It's been a year of cross-country family travel for us, and our adventures are not over yet 'cause we're headed back to Cambodia! 🛫 We’re looking forward to wrapping up the year with all of our Tukstaff members in Pursat.
We would like to thank each and every one of our TuKrousah members and supporters for your help in 2022. We'll all see you next year!

Annual summary meeting in 2022 ✍

We were able to hold a general meeting in the middle of November to talk about the first year of the CLIP2 project. We invited the teachers and principals of the target schools as well as officials from different sections of the provincial and district Department of Education who are not regular attendees at our workshops so we could update them on the progress we've made over the last school year.
It was wonderful to meet with the principals and DoE officials with whom we rarely have the chance to meet and be able to share what we do. Feedback on recent events and requests for future ones were among the many things we received from everyone. They were pleased with the outcome, and we hope to keep working with them for the remainder of the year to improve preschool education in Pursat province. 💪
Looking ahead to the next 2 years... 🎤

We have started making plans for the next two years, despite the fact that the CLIP2 project has reached a tipping point.
Although still in the planning stages, in November, we conducted interviews at 15 preschools, as well as visited the Provincial DoE and District offices for the 2024 project. This was done in order to facilitate the transition of CLIP 2 into CLIP 3, which would allow it to expand further into the region and work with new preschools.
Even though we were not familiar with any of the preschools that we visited, we discovered that a number of them are making use of the worksheets, such as the ones that were distributed by officials from the DoE and District offices. It’s wonderful to know that our materials are reaching places we are unaware of.
Furthermore, we got the opportunity to meet a group of teachers who were quite enthusiastic, and we look forward to working with them in the near future.
Khmer of the month
Khmer Word: Kadoh
Christmas is only a couple of weeks of sleep away.🎄What "Kadoh (present)" are you hoping to receive this year? In Cambodia, Christmas decorations are only put up in front of larger stores, and while there isn't a lot of excitement surrounding the holiday, you can still feel the spirit, even just a little.

Thank you, 2022!! 💐

During the course of this year, the long-standing COVID-19 restrictions gradually loosened, allowing schools to resume normal, face-to-face sessions. Following that, we were thrilled to be able to kick off the CLIP 2 project as planned by meeting with officers from provincial DoE and district offices, teachers, and kids from the target schools. 💛
We were unable to meet in person during the CLIP1 project due to the pandemic that occurred in 2020-2021. As a result, the year we spent working on the CLIP2 project has become a learning experience for us. Despite the Tukstaff's tiny size, we were able to take the project forward thanks to the teachers' willingness to understand and cooperate with us, the reassuring assistance of the voluntukers, and the warm support of our Krousah members, all while leveraging the capabilities of each Tukstaff member.
We at TukTuk would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to each and every one of you. Please keep a watch on TukTuk's activities in the coming year, and we look forward to working with you again in 2023!! 🥰
Voluntuker spotlight | Kris

Kris is an Australian who has been in Japan since 2005 and is currently teaching at Seinan Jo Gakuin University. She enjoys traveling and trying new foods and is a big fan of TukTuk's kamishibai books. (But then, who isn't?) So, what motivates Kris to volunteer with TukTuk?
"I was really interested in the goals, approach, and activities of TukTuk and excited to have the chance to learn more about TukTuk's work and contribute somehow to my students. Last year my students gained so much through talking with Adrian and Mayu and the activities they were involved with, and we hope to be able to maintain and strengthen this connection in 2022 and beyond. In 2022/23, we particularly hope to spread the word about TukTuk in Fukuoka and Japan and hopefully get more TukTuk supporters."
Many Cambodian educators are currently making use of the teaching resources that Kris' students created last year. The English worksheets, in particular, have been very well received! This year, they are once again helping us create new teaching materials, which we hope to be able to share with you all. 😊
Thank you so much, Kris, and to every one of your students at Seinan Jo Gakuin University!
