CLIP3 equipment delivered, 1st workshop, POE annual meeting
CLIP3 equipment delivered by tuk-tuk to 15 schools, the first CLIP3 workshop with computer lessons, and teachers honoured at the POE annual meeting.
It is going to be extremely hot 🌞

In Pursat, the heat has arrived earlier than usual, with feels-like temperatures surpassing 40 degrees Celsius during the day. Thankfully, the adjacent swallow's house provides some relief from direct sunlight, making the office feel slightly cooler.
Despite the hydration break after the 1st workshop, our marathon of activities continues with school visits this week. We're targeting 26 classes in 15 schools for CLIP3, doubling the number from CLIP2. With the increased distance from our office, we'll face the challenge of splitting the teams for visits, but we look forward to seeing the teachers' classes in person. Safety is our top priority as we travel!
The highlight of this month will be the arrival of guests from the Rotary Club of Calgary Downtown, a pivotal moment for the CLIP project. It marks the first in-person meeting between the Pursat team and the Rotary Club since the pandemic began. Stay tuned for updates! Why don't you visit Cambodia for a holiday as well? 🛫
Warm regards,
Adrian & Mayu & Milly 🦘👘🧒
CLIP3 tools have been delivered 🚚

In last month's issue, we shared the exciting news about acquiring all the tools for CLIP3. For two weeks, beginning from the start of the previous month, we successfully distributed these tools to all 15 designated schools.
How did we transport them? Cars? Trucks? No! It's through none other than our trusty light-blue tuk-tuk! 🛺
Sarin took the wheel, and along with Fy, we visited each school, assembling and installing shelves and delivering storybooks, Kamishibai, laminate machines, speakers, colored pencils, and more to 26 classrooms.
Teachers promptly sent pictures of children actively engaging with the tools—using colored pencils for worksheets, singing and exercising to music from the speakers, and reading storybooks together as a class. It's a relief to witness how these resources are enhancing the class experience.
Starting this week, we are visiting each classroom to observe the teachers in action and witness firsthand how they are utilizing these tools.
The 1st workshop 💻

On February 15, we successfully conducted our inaugural workshop. Compared to last year's CLIP2, the expansion of target schools led to a participant count exceeding 40, requiring the collaborative efforts of a 7-person TukTuk team.
This year's event featured a computer grant and lessons provided by members of the Rotary Club of Pursat (RCP). Additionally, "REAN AAN," a TukTuk's partner start-up, introduced their website. The workshop included presentations of TukTuk's materials, "Jack the Giant" and "Happy Khmer New Year!" as well as guidance on creating lesson plans.
In the computer lesson segment, Ketya, a member from RCP (more details in the Voluntuker Spotlight below👇), imparted basic computer operation skills to the teachers. The teachers, enthusiastic about their new computers, learned to use them individually.
During the Kamishibai reading, Fy engaged the teachers by introducing TukTuk's teaching materials. Some teachers, unfamiliar with Kamishibai, listened with keen interest. The workshop incorporated games and songs, providing teachers with firsthand experience of the educational materials.
The session concluded with a group work segment where teachers crafted lesson plans based on the contents of "Jack the Giant." Valuable insights were gained from the creative lesson ideas proposed by the teachers.
As we embark on this week's school visits, we plan to follow up with the teachers, offering further guidance on computer usage. Simultaneously, we'll encourage them to incorporate the two storybooks and teaching materials introduced during the workshop into their lessons.
Khmer of the month
Khmer Word: Sakammopheap Kosang
On the 14th, we celebrate 'National Children's Craft Day,' a day dedicated to rekindling the joy of crafts. TukTuk has also produced idea videos titled "Sakammopheap Kosang (Craft)" to inspire creativity. Engaging in crafting not only fosters fine motor skills but also encourages imagination and self-expression in children. In CLIP2, teachers who are passionate about crafts frequently use TukTuk's website as a resource, contributing their own craft ideas. Now, we eagerly anticipate the artistic creations that will emerge from the teachers of CLIP3!

Educational annual meeting✍

At this time each year, the Pursat Provincial Department of Education (POE) organizes its annual meeting. This gathering brings together POE staff, education department personnel from various areas, school principals, and active educational organizations in the province. The purpose is to present the outcomes of the current school year from each department and deliberate on plans for the upcoming academic year.
This occasion serves as a platform to recognize and honor exceptional teachers chosen from each district as 'the year's outstanding teachers.' Notably, starting this year, preschool teachers were also included in this commendation, and to our delight, four teachers from CLIP2 were selected! 👏 Additionally, several CLIP3 teachers were acknowledged with awards, and we aspire for them to serve as exemplary models and leaders for the teachers targeted in their future endeavors. 💪
Voluntuker spotlight | Ketya

In this issue, we’d like to introduce you to Ketya, a dedicated Rotary Club of Pursat (RCP) member.
What's your role at RCP?: I am primarily in charge of equipment and media, and as part of RCP's activities, I conduct computer training and provide technical support to RCP as needed.
What do you do outside RCP?: I work as a computer teacher and IT officer in a school run by the Rotary Club in Pursat. I teach computers to students and also provide technical support by maintaining the school's internet system.
Impression of CLIP3: IT now plays an important role in supporting education. If teachers can make full use of IT, they can also teach effective lessons that are relevant to the current situation. If teachers can acquire computer knowledge, they will be able to teach their classes more easily and effectively. Therefore, I am very honored to be able to give computer lessons to preschool teachers through this project.
Ketya recently became a part of our team, joining the project after the initiation of CLIP3. As computer lessons will commence in the first workshop of CLIP3, we sought Ketya's assistance due to his excellent computer skills. He is adept at delivering specialized content in a clear and approachable manner, establishing himself as a valuable ally for the teachers.
