Lockdown Fundraising

We are living through some strange times, people across the globe are adjusting to a new way of life. It is definitely not all bad though, we have been able to make some essential repairs to our TukTuks!

Schools in Cambodia are currently closed due to COVID 19, which is delaying educational advancement for children. In an effort to combat this issue, some teachers have been running small home classes to help the affected children. The Cambodian government has also been active by creating online learning and education programs. Donating to TukTuk enables more digital resources to be created and further help.

Perhaps you are saving on parking and commuting costs, maybe your usual birthday bash has turned into a night in with take away, or you are no longer splurging on a daily coffee. Saving some money can never be a bad thing, and your dollars saved can go a long way to helping a child in need.

Here are 5 lockdown friendly ideas to fundraise in these unprecedented times…

1

Donate your commute: Did you receive a refund from your yearly bus or train pass or are you saving money on parking and petrol? You might consider donating some of it to TukTuk.

2

Virtual/Zoom Trivia: Why not host a Trivia or Quiz night, it’s a fun way of connecting with family and friends during lockdown. You can set a small price for participation in the quiz through a donation and award a prize as an incentive for the winner.

3

Donate your Birthday: If you are having or have had a birthday during the lockdown period, you could donate some of what you would have spent celebrating it or ask for donations instead of presents. TukTuk can even provide you your own birthday fundraiser page

4

Personal Isolation Challenge: Raise awareness of your favourite nonprofit by challenging yourself by giving up something you love. Examples include running challenges such as daily exercise goals, popular challenges include running 5km per day for a month or giving up your favourite food and drinks for a month.
