“Sala Rean Sabey” Production (Feb. 2026)
International Collaboration: Two Australian volunteers assisted the R4C team in shooting 13 episodes. Current status: Editing phase; remaining segments are being planned for future shoots.
Kick-Off Meeting & MOU Signing (Mar. 5, 2026)
MOU signed between R4C and the POE/6 target DOEs. Presented Baseline Survey results to 52 participants, including RCP and local officials.
- Participants overwhelmingly agreed that the project would benefit teachers (technical skills), children (fun learning), and parents (home engagement).
- Officials from the POE and DOE highlighted that CLIP4 fills a critical gap, as many preschool teachers still lack comprehensive capacity in early childhood education.
- 100% of education officers committed to promoting the project through 14 annual technical meetings.
- The baseline survey confirmed that 72.2% of teachers fear making technical mistakes with digital tools, justifying our focus on simple, step-by-step digital mentorship.
Workshop 1: Technical Training (Mar. 12, 2026)
Trained 18 target teachers and 6 education officers on “Learning through Play.” Content included website usage, storytelling, and material production. In addition, we had a volunteer from USA and she gave positive affirmation lesson as well.
- Digital Library Training: 4.83 / 5 (Rated highest for utility).
- Action Songs: 4.70 / 5.
- Crafts: 4.74 / 5.
- Key Takeaways: Teachers were most excited to implement the “Five Little Monkeys” puppet show, Positive Affirmations, and new action songs in their classrooms.
- Technical Barriers: While teachers found material making “easy,” many reported that creating lessons on the website and using AI were difficult and require more training.
- Resource Needs: Participants requested more big picture books (Kamishibai) and specific worksheets for Khmer vowels to align better with Ministry of Education standards.
1st Technical Meeting Support (Mar. 11-25)
Made 4 visits to Technical Meetings (Pursat City, Tropeang Chong in Bakan District, Kravanh, Talo) to support during regional meetings.
- Field Success (Pursat): Target teachers successfully demonstrated materials to 39 peers. The presence of CLIP3 “graduates” allowed for high-level peer sharing of innovative craft adaptations.
- Major Support (Talo): R4C provided essential technical and mental encouragement to a group of mostly new teachers, and the meeting seemed to flow better with our assistance.
Next Steps for April – June 2026
- Finalize editing for the first 13 episodes of Sala Rean Sabey and plan shooting for the remaining segments.
